After his debut at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago, 15 year old Seb Priaulx came of age at Donington Park over the weekend of the 16th/17th April, bagging a trio of rookie podiums in only his second full Ginetta Junior Championship event.
Qualifying a strong 5th after a day of solid testing that saw him post one of the fastest times of the day the JHR Developments driver looked strong.
With the nerves of the opening round behind him, Seb judged all three starts perfectly and drove with a confidence that outweighs his relative inexperience in a racing car.
7th, 8th and 8th overall saw Priaulx mount the podium three times as the 3rd fastest rookie in the weekend’s three races, and with 55 points on the board, the Parish Group sponsored driver has elevated himself to 10th in the overall Ginetta Junior Championship after 5 races.
Rounds 6 and 7 will take place at the ultra fast Thruxton circuit in Hampshire and with Priaulx full of confidence expect another front running performance from the teenager.
Seb Priaulx – 3 x rookie podiums: “What a weekend! 3 rookie podiums, top 8 in all three races. I had good pace and could see the top boys the whole race. It was really good racing and I can’t wait for the next round at Thruxton in May. Thanks to Parish Group and all my sponsors and supporters and of course my mam, dad and Dani.”
