The season of success for CF Motorsport continued last weekend with Ben Currie, taking the win and Ross Twyman close to the podium in the National Superstock 600cc Championship and Kyle Ryde inside the top 5 in both British Supersport races aboard their Pacedayz.com Yamaha machines.
Ryde, consolidated his 2nd position overall in the British Supersport championship with a pair of 5th place finishes, the youngster fighting hard in both encounters. The multiple podium finisher will head to Brands Hatch for the final two races with the aim to hold on to the number 2 spot as 2015 draws to a close.
It was however victory for Ben Currie in STK600 that was the highlight of the weekend, the Australian taking his 2nd victory of the year, defeating Mason Law, who claimed the title, by 0.639s at the end of a thrilling 10 lap encounter at Silverstone. Currie has now guaranteed that he will finish the 2015 season as Vice Champion or 3rd, much to the delight of his father who was trackside to watch Ben clinch another 25 points.
Just missing out on a podium finish was Ross Twyman who after a run of strong results raced to a season’s best 4th at the flag, the #15 rider running at lap record pace which bodes well for the season finale at Brands Hatch in a fortnight. Twyman’s result elevates him to 10th overall and with only 10 points separating him from 6th overall and with one race to go he has every chance of ending the year on a high.
Kyle Ryde – 5th position: “Two 5th places may not be too spectacular but heading to Brands Hatch for the final two races we have a real chance to seal 2nd overall in the British Supersport championship at our first attempt so we must take the positives. In both races I was involved in some pretty close racing and some of the moves were a bit hard but I’ll have my elbows out in a fortnight because with the championship gone there is no way I am giving up on second without a fight. Thanks as always to Craig and the entire CF Motorsport squad, my Pacedayz.com Yamaha was solid.”
Ben Currie – Winner in STK600: “What a great weekend for me and the CF Motorsport team. We bounced back in perfect fashion after a few tough rounds and we have come out with the win. We made slight changes to the feeling of my bike this weekend and a credit to the team they did a fantastic job. I lead from start to finish and took my second win of the season and am now back into second position in the championship. Huge thanks to Craig, my mechanics Tom , Robbie and everyone else who is involved in the team. Full focus for me is on another win at the final round – let’s see if we can make it 3 wins in 2015!”
Ross Twyman – 4th position in STK600: “It was a really good weekend! As usual qualifying didnt go too well for me so I started from 13th on row five, but I always knew I could be fast around Silverstone and in the race I got a good start and was up to 8th within a few corners. I kept plugging away and tucked in on the back of the front group. As the race went on I found myself in a bit of a lonely race but with my lap times on the final laps at lap record place I took 4th, the closest to the lead we have been all year! I cant thank Craig enough for this weekend with the set up of the bike and his continued belief in me. A big thanks to the whole team for their support and also thanks to my personal sponsors. Bring on Brands Hatch!”
