Team Hero EBR were close once again to their first world championship points of the season after a spirited ride from Aaron Yates saw the American finish 16th in race 2 after a race long dual with Gabor Rizmayer.
Race one, which was held in slightly cooler conditions unfortunately saw Aaron Yates crash out of a potential point scoring fight, thankfully without injury while Geoff brought his 1190RX machine home in a respectable 17th.
Race two saw an improved performance from both riders until Geoff was forced to retire on lap 11. Aaron on the other hand was able to run the pace of the riders around him in the early stages eventually finishing just outside the points in 16th.
Understandably the team are disappointed after all their hard work to come so close once again to scoring points but they are looking forward to the remaining races in France and Qatar with renewed optimism.
Geoff May: “I am sorry I was forced to give up in race 2 because of a technical problem, because I really wanted to score some points here at Jerez and until the problem it looked very possbile. Now I want to keep focused on the last two races and will try to end the season in the best possible way.”
Aaron Yates: “I am quite satisfied this weekend. I had a good feeling with the bike and during race two I had the chance to fight inside the top 20 and narrowly missed scoring our first point. Unfortunately we missed the chance to score it here in Spain but I am confident in a positive ending to the season.”

A Jerez, il Team Hero EBR è andato vicino alla conquista dei primi punti in classifica della stagione, con Aaron Yates che, autore di una gara molto combattuta con Gabor Rizmayer, ha concluso gara 2 in 16° posizione.
Gara 1 si è corsa in condizioni leggermente più fresche ed ha visto Aaron Yates autore di una caduta che fortunatamente non ha riportato danni fisici al pilota; Geoff May, invece, è riuscito a portare la sua EBR 1190RX in 17° posizione.
In gara 2 entrambi i piloti americani sono riusciti a migliorare la rispettiva performance. Purtroppo Geoff è stato costretto al ritiro a causa di un problema tecnico durante l’undicesimo passaggio. Aaron Yates, invece, è riuscito a mantenere il passo dei piloti con cui battagliava per un lungo periodo ed ha concluso la sua manche in 16° posizione.
Tutta la squadra è soddisfatta del duro lavoro svolto in questo week-end e guarda con rinnovato ottimismo alle ultime due gara del Campionato, in Francia e Qatar.
Geoff May: “Mi è dispiaciuto molto dovermi ritirare in gara 2 a causa di un problema tecnico, perché volevo davvero portare a casa qualche punto in classifica. Adesso devo rimanere concentrato sulle ultime gare e provare a chiudere in bellezza questa stagione.”
Aaron Yates: “Mi ritengo abbastanza soddisfatto da questa trasferta. Sono riuscito a trovare un buon feeling con la moto ed in gara 2 ho avuto la possibilità di lottare nella top 20. Per sfortuna abbiamo perso l’opportunità di agguantare i primi punti in classifica ma sono fiducioso in un finale di stagione positivo.”
