With his health improving each day Menghi dug deep when it mattered to qualify in a respectable 20th on the grid and with further changes to be made to his VFT Racing Yamaha in the morning warm up session, both he and the team are confident of a solid race tomorrow.

Fabio Menghi: “We are working hard and starting to make steps in the right direction. After two months of hard training and feeling fine I arrived here in Jerez with a fever and I am not 100%. I felt a little bit better in myself today and I hope that tomorrow I will feel even better. The whole team is doing a great job and I am confident that if we fix a couple of small problems we can have a good race tomorrow.”
