H-Moto BMW regretfully announce that for Misano they will be solely represented on the grid by Romanian Robert Muresan.
The team had started 2014 with 1000cc rookie Riccardo Cecchini on their second machine, but after the recent race in Imola, the Italian youngster has decided to look for other options.
H-Moto are clearly disappointed at the decision, given the impressive pace that Cecchini had shown in pre-season testing as well as in the practice and qualifying session so far this year, but are now focused on giving their full support to Muresan who scored his best ever result (8th) last time out.
Kristian Kelemen – H-Moto Team Manager: “It appears that the decision was made a sponsor and was a surprise for us, because we had a very good winter testing with both the bike and ‘Ricci’ showing that top 5 results were not only a dream but a serious possibility. Once the financial aspects are concluded we will release him to race with another team. Everyone in the team holds Ricci in very high regards, he is a good rider and a great character and we are sorry that our adventure has come to this abrupt end. We wish him the best for his future career and hope that he is able to make the correct decision for his next step. On a positive note we have Robert Muresan riding very strongly and we are confident that he can continue to grow within our family team and challenge for top results for the rest of the year.”
Moving forward, the team will look to replace Cecchini. Anyone interested is invited to get in touch.
