Geoff May and Aaron Yates gave themselves every opportunity of securing their best results of the season after a spirited performance by both American riders saw them close the gap to the front greatly in the third and fourth Free Practice sessions at the Imola circuit earlier today.
So far this weekend the EBR 1190RX has been trouble free and that has allowed the team to once again improve every time they go on track, putting them in an encouraging position ahead of tomorrow’s races.
Starting 26th and 27th on the grid, Geoff and Aaron know how tough the races, which are set to run in the hottest conditions of the year to date will be, but both are optimistic of being able to fight with other riders in the 19 lap encounters.
Geoff May – “I am happy with the bike because we are getting closer to the other riders. We improved a lot since yesterday and now we are closer to our rivals. We need to continue in this direction.”
Aaron Yates – “I was happy with the improvements that we made on the bike. I am enjoying riding in Imola and hopefully we will be faster again and we can fight with the other riders.”

Geoff May ed Aaron Yates hanno dato il loro meglio nella speranza di assicurarsi il miglior risultato della stagione, grazie ad una brillante prestazione che li ha visti accorciare considerevolmente il gap che li separava dai primi durante le ultime sessioni di libere del Sabato.
Le due EBR 1190RX non hanno avuto problemi per tutto il fine settimana e questo ha permesso alla squadra di migliorarsi ad ogni uscita in pista, ponendoli in una condizione sicuramente positiva in vista della gara di domani.
Partendo dalla 26° e 27° posizione, sia Geoff che Aaron sono consapevoli che li aspetta una gara molto dura, destinata a corrersi in condizioni di caldo abbastanza intenso; ma entrambi sono fiduciosi di poter lottare con gli avversari durante i 19 giri previsti dal round italiano.
Geoff May: “Sono soddisfatto dei progressi fatti con la moto e ci stiamo pian piano avvicinando agli altri piloti. Abbiamo fatto degli importanti passi in avanti da ieri e adesso siamo ancora più vicini ai nostri rivali. Dobbiamo continuare a lavorare in questa direzione.”
Aaron Yates: “Sono felice dei miglioramenti che abbiamo apportato alla mia EBR 1190RX. Mi sto divertendo molto a guidare in questo tracciato e spero che domani saremo ancora più veloci, in modo da potercela giocare con i piloti che ci stanno davanti.”
