Fabio Menghi powered his VFT Racing Yamaha to a respectable 13th position on the grid for tomorrow’s World Supersport race in Imola, improving greatly in the official grid setting session to ensure he is well positioned to challenge for his best result of the year in front of his sponsors, family and friends and an enthusiastic Italian crowd that is expected to fill the Italian venue.
Electing to work on race set up in two of the three practice sessions, Fabio made some further adjustments in this morning’s final free practice session, improving again when it counted for the grid.
Looking ahead to the race, Menghi’s plan is to get a good start and fight with the leading group. He is confident that this weekend presents a real opportunity for his ‘family’ team to achieve a solid point scoring finish.
Fabio Menghi – “I am really happy with the qualifying session. We made a great step forward to give us a good place on the grid. We will try a couple of other things in the morning warm up and I am confident that we can have a good race.”

Fabio Menghi ha portato la Yamaha del VFT Racing a una buona 13a posizione e partira’ dalla quinta fila in griglia di partnza con l’obbiettivo di raccogliere il miglior risultato della stagione davanti ai suoi sponsor, famiglia, amici e tifosi.
Ieri Fabio aveva scelto di lavorare sul set-up per la gara e oggi, dopo qualche modifica fatta durante le terze prove libere, si e’ migliorato nelle qualifiche, quando contava veramente, per conquistare una bella posizione in griglia.
L’obbiettivo di Fabio e’ fare una buona partenza domani e lottare con il primo gruppo. E’ molto fiducioso e sa che questo fine settimana e’ un’ottima opportunita’ per il suo team di conquistare punti preziosi per la stagione.
Fabio Menghi: “Sono molto contento con le qualifiche che ho fatto. Abbiamo realizzato molte migliore e partiamo da una buona posizione in griglia. Domani nel warm up proveremo ancora qualche modifica e sono convinto di fare una bella gara”.
