The Media Event at Imola next week will be a football match. There will be no Paddock Show activity, instead a huge number of riders and team members will descend at the Romeo Galli stadium, adjacent to the circuit at 5.30pm.

At Monza last year the stars of SBK played on a table but at Imola this year a charity match to raise funding to support the House known as “Anna Guglielmi”, that hosts the families of patients recovering at the “Montecatone Rehabilitation Institute”, close to the Circuit will take place, with a crowd of several hundred people expected to attend.

The “SBK Dream Team” will be composed of a selection of riders, Italian former football players, journalists and photographers, playing against the “Imolese All Stars”, a selection of football players from the local team (4th division), joined by other local representatives, such as the mayor and other authorities.

An Autograph Session with Q and A opportunity is scheduled at the stadium before the match.

Shuttle buses and cars are arranged to drive Teams and Media from the paddock to the stadium.

Riders and players taking part in the match are as follows:

Michel Fabrizio, Marco Melandri, Davide Giugliano, Ayrton Badovini, Niccolo Canepa, Luca Scassa, Christian Gamarino, Alessandro Nocco, Claudio Corti, Tom Sykes, Loris Baz, Leon Haslam, Alex Lowes, Geoff May.

We are delighted to announce the following former football players will also attend: Enrico ‘Tarzan’ Annoni, Marco Negri, Moreno Mannini, Cristian Lantignotti.

DJ Ringo (Virgin Radio Italy) – Virgin Radio is promoting the event as a Media Partner and will also offer live coverage for the event and live radio interviews.

Cristiano Migliorati (San Carlo Team Italia STK600), Greg Hauret-Clos (Bimota Alstare Racing Coordinator), GeeBee (Graeme Brown, permanent photographer), Giulio Fabbri (permanent journalist) will also take part.

Guido Meda (Mediaset TV Italy) will kick-off the match and there will be TV coverage on site and a number of special guests.

Approximately 300 children from the Imola football school will attend and will be given SBK branded clappers.

All riders’ families and children are more than welcome.

Professional football kit will be provided by Acerbis, official sponsor and supplier of the Championship.

WSBK branded backdrop will be at the pitch for rider interviews, with Prosecco bottles presented to celebrate the end of the match. Other prizes sponsored by our partners will also be awarded.
