Italy’s Fabio Menghi will start tomorrow’s second round of the World Supersport championship from the sixth row after a difficult qualifying session at MotorLand Aragon this afternoon.
The VFT Racing Yamaha rider looked smooth and fast but was unable to produce a lap that would see him start the 15 lap race from inside the top ten.
Nevertheless the whole team is positive after looking at the data that Fabio can have a strong result to back up his encouraging finishing position at Phillip Island.
Fabio Menghi – 16th position: “I’m not happy with the qualifying because I wanted to use a different gearing but I had little problem, I made too many mistakes and I wasn’t able to do a good job. The bike is good and the engine is strong. Qualifying is just for the start so I think we can have a good race with no errors.”
Tomorrow’s World Supersport race will start at 1140 local time.

L’italiano Fabio Menghi partirà dalla sesta fila il secondo round del World Supersport Championship, dopo un difficile turno di qualifiche al MotorLand di Aragon.
Il pilota del Team VFT Racing Yamaha era apparso molto veloce ma non è stato in grado di concludere un giro veloce tale da porlo nella Top 10 in griglia di partenza.
Ciò nonostante, l’intero team è positivo poiché i dati forniti dalla prestazione di Fabio dimostrano che potrà replicare l’incoraggiante posizione finale in gara di Phillip Island.
Fabio Menghi – 16th position: “Non sono soddisfatto dalle qualifiche di oggi perché volevo usare un cambio diverso ma ho riscontrato dei problemi. Ho fatto troppi errori e non sono stato in grado di svolgere un buon lavoro. La moto va bene e il motore spinge forte.Le qualifiche servono solo alla posizione in griglia di partenza e spero di poter correre una bella gara senza errori.”
