English Version: VFT Racing To Field 3 Bike Stock 600cc Team
VFT Racing are delighted to announce an expanded three rider team for their assault on the 2014 FIM Europe Superstock 600cc Championship, with Italian’s Christopher Gobbi and Paulo Giacomini joining compatriot Stefano Casalotti who remains with the team.
All three riders have gone well in pre-season tests and are looking forward to being competitive when the seven round series begins at MotorLand Aragon, Spain on Saturday April 12th.
Looking ahead, Casalotti will be hoping that his top ten overall finishing position last year will stand him in good stead for possible podium battles throughout 2014, whilst Gobbi and Giacomini make their debut in the World Superbike support category after previously competing in the Italian CIV and Alpe Adria championships.
Stefano Casalotti – Rider: “I am very happy to be riding once again for VFT Racing after my 2013 apprenticeship in the European championship. This year will be a very important year for me and for the team. The first tests were good with positive results, so we hope to continue along this path. I am ready for the opening race!”
Christopher Gobbi – Rider: “I am very happy to have this opportunity to participate in the European Championship with a team of the caliber of VFT racing. The championship is very competitive, there are very strong riders with more experience than me but I will try to learn from them. I know that it is a very hard level but I will try to improve every race. I have a great team around me that will help me to grow as a rider. My objectives this season are to have steady growth race by race. I am committed 100% to get good results.”
Paolo Giacomini – Rider: “I have raced for two years in the CIV championship on the 600 and this year I will ride with VFT in the European series so I am very happy. The European championship is very strong but I will do my best and I will gain a lot of experience this year.”
VFT Racing will run all three riders on Yamaha R6 machines in their traditional distinctive colour scheme with Bitubo suspension.
Valerio Menghi – Team Manager: “We are very happy to have Stefano, Christopher and Paolo in our team this year. We have a good bike with good mechanics and with Bitubo suspension we are sure we can have a perfect season. With Stefano, he remains with us and we want to push for the front positions from the opening race in Aragon. Christopher and Paolo will start their first season racing in Europe; they are very young and will have to learn a lot of new tracks. We are sure that they can be stronger at the two Italian rounds as they will know the circuits, but we will support them 100% and are excited to see them develop.”
The 2014 FIM Europe Superstock 600cc Championship will run alongside the World Superbike Championship at the following venues: MotorLand Aragon, Assen, Imola, Misano, Portimao, Jerez, Magny-Cours.

Il VFT Racing è lieto di annunciare che questa stagione avrà un team composto da tre piloti nel Campionato Europeo di Superstock 600cc., con Christopher Gobbi e Paolo Giacomini che affiancheranno Stefano Casalotti, già riconfermato dalla scorsa stagione.
I tre piloti sono andati bene durante I test invernali e sono pronti per dare il massimo dalla prima gara della stagione che comincerà sabato 12 Aprile a Motorland Aragon, in Spagna.
Dopo la top ten finale della scorsa stagione, l’obbiettivo di Casalotti è lottare per il podio durante tutto il 2014, mentre Gobbi e Giacomini debutteranno nel Campionato Europeo SuperStock600 dopo un anno di apprendistato nel campionato Alpe Adria.
Stefano Casalotti – Pilota: “Sono contentissimo di continuare a correre per il team VFT Racing dopo il mio anno d’apprendistato nel campionato europeo. Quest’anno sarà molto importante per me e per il team, i primi test sono andati bene con risultati positivi e spero di continuare su questa strada. Sono pronto per la gara inaugurale!”.
Christopher Gobbi- Pilota: “ Sono molto contento dell’opportunità che ho di partecipare nel Campionato Europeo con un Team di grande calibro come il VFT Racing. Il campionato è molto competitivo, ci sono piloti molto forti e con più esperienza di me ma io imparerò da loro. So che il livello è difficile ma proverò a migliorarmi gara dopo gara. Ho un team fantastico che mi aiuterà a crescere come pilota. L’obiettivo di questa stagione e di crescere gara dopo gara. Mi impegnerò al 100% per ottenere ottimi risultati.”
Paolo Giacomini – Pilota: “Ho corso per due anni nel CIV nella classe 600 e quest’anno correrò con il VFT nel campionato europeo e sono molto contento. L’europeo è un campionato duro ma darò il massimo e guadagnerò molta esperienza quest’anno.”
I tre piloti del VFT Racing guideranno delle Yamaha R6 con sospensioni Bitubo.
Valerio Menghi – Team Manager: “Siamo molto contenti di avere Stefano, Christopher e Paolo quest’anno. Abbiamo una buona moto, un buon reparto tecnico e con le sospensioni Bitubo siamo sicuro di potere fare una stagione perfetta. Con Stefano vogliamo stare sempre nelle prime posizioni già dalla prima gara ad Aragon. Christopher e Paolo cominceranno la loro prima stagione a livello europeo; sono molto giovani e dovranno imparare molte piste. Siamo sicuri che potranno andare molto forte nelle due gare italiane perché già conoscono i circuiti, noi li sosterremo al 100% e siamo entusiasti di vedere come crescono.”
Il Campionato Europeo Superstock 600cc si svolgerà in concomitanza con il campionato World Superbike presso i circuiti di Motorland Aragon, Assen, Imola, Misano, Portimao, Jerez e Magny-Cours.
