Youngster Alex Schacht put his season well and truly back on track with a determined ride to 22nd position in yesterday’s inaugural World Supersport race at the Intercity Park circuit in Turkey.
Schacht was once again dogged by problems during free practice and qualifying, the Racing Team Toth Honda rider only managing 11 laps over the two timed sessions which set the grid, as further clutch and electrical problems hampered the determined Dane.
After lapping over 3 seconds faster in this morning’s Warm Up session, Alex once again showed his true natural talent with a spirited ride in the afternoon race, getting the better of his much more experienced team mate Imre Toth from Hungary in the process.
The next round of the championship takes place at a circuit that was kind to Alex last year, when he finished 4th in UEM Superstock Championship race, Magny-Cours in France.
