In Alex Baldolini, Qualifying, World Supersport

A crash in this morning’s free practice session at the Intercity Park circuit in Turkey looked like it would spell the end of the weekend for Suriano Suzuki’s Alex Baldolini.

The likeable Italian fell at turn two at over 250kmph early in the session and spent a considerable amount of time in the Clinica Mobile.

Alex, who had complained yesterday of severe front end chatter from the new spec Pirelli tyre was checked for a possible wrist injury but thankfully no broken bones were revealed, and the gutsy Italian was back on track for final qualifying.

Battling through the pain, Baldolini surprised everyone by improving by over a second to line up on tomorrow’s World Supersport grid in a very respectable 16th.

Tomorrow’s race will be tough for the Suriano Suzuki rider, but if we can be assured of anything, it’s that Alex will give it his all.
