In Qualifying, Rivamoto, World Supersport

With rain affecting the final qualifying session for the German round of the World Supersport, Rivamoto Honda’s Jack Kennedy will start tomorrow’s 19 lap race from 6th position on the grid after his time from yesterday was good enough to secure a second row start at the Nurburgring.

Kennedy had matched his lap time in the morning free practice session and was hopeful of further improvement in final qualifying but the track conditions prevented any of the 39 riders from going any faster.

Edik Blokhin also improved his times this morning, posting a lap time more than a second faster than last year but  will also start the race based on his time from yesterday. Nevertheless it’s pleasing to see the continued improvements for the Russian rider.

Despite the frustration at not being able to challenge for the front row, the Rivamoto team are understandably happy with their starting positions and in confident mood for the race.

Jack Kennedy – 6th position: “The free practice session this morning was good. We had some good consistency and we know which tyre we will use in the race which is important. We continue to make steps forward with the bike and I am feeling confident for the race. Of course I need to get a good start and get away with the front group but we are in a good position.”

The World Supersport race is scheduled to start at 1330 tomorrow and run over 19 laps.
