Current leader of the PATA European Junior Cup, Jake Lewis made a steady start to the 6th round of the championship at the Nurburgring earlier today.
The Kiwi had looked like being one of the fastest riders of the day after topping the timing sheets for 30 minutes of the scheduled 45.
As the time until the chequered flag ticked away, Jake decided to avoid getting involved in the usual slipstream battle for supremecy, preferring to circulate alone and save his best until it counts in official qualifying tomorrow.
This decision meant Jake would lose a number of positions ending Free Practice in 10th position overall, just over a second off the fastest time.
The one and only qualifying session will take place tomorrow afternoon.
