Jake Lewis took victory in the British round of the PATA European Junior Cup after a red flag ended the race on the penultimate lap at Silverstone a few moments ago.
Lewis, who had made an electric start from 8th on the grid to lead at the end of the opening lap was involved in a 13 rider fight at the front.
With riders sometimes six a breast at the end of the long Hangar straight, Jake had been bumped back to 4th position when he was taken down along with 4 other riders at the chicane.
The red flag was brought out to clear away the debris, and with the results being counted back to the last fully completed lap it was Lewis who was declared the winner for the second time this year.
Jake Lewis – Race Winner: “That was a great race. I was leading but got passed and then we all went down. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who is helping me, a big hello to everyone back home and a massive thank you to my dad.”
The result moves Jake back into the lead of the championship with 3 races remaining.
