In Alex Baldolini, Qualifying, World Supersport

Alex Baldolini will start tomorrow’s 8th round of the World Supersport championship from a career best 5th position on the grid at the Moscow Raceway circuit after rain prevented any changes to the overnight standings.

The Suzuki rider has been in terrific form all weekend, and despite a rain interrupted final qualifying session is absolutely right that his grid placing is on merit.

Alex gave his Suriano team a few hours of concern after a technical problem with the Italians machine this morning meant a rebuild.

The team, as always, remained calm and professional, and together with Alex they are confident of a strong race tomorrow come rain or shine.

Alex Baldolini – 5th on the grid: “There’s not to much to say about today because in FP2 I did two laps and the engine broke. In qp2 we were ready but it started to rain before the session. During the last minutes I went out to the track to see if everything was ok with the new engine. Tomorrow in the warm up we have to do some modifications but I am very happy to start from 5th position. It’s my best starting position since I started in World Supersport, and I am very happy for the team who are working really well. Let’s see what the weather will be like tomorrow!”

Tomorrow’s 22 lap race is scheduled to take place at 1330 local time and signals the half way point in the 2013 World Supersport championship.
