Alen Gyorfi’s attempt to ride through the pain barrier in final qualifying for the FIM Stock 1000cc Cup race in Imola this weekend left his team singing his praises and full of admiration for the Hungarian charger.
Gyorfi, who was showing some real speed until a morning crash at the tight final chicane, was lucky to be able to ride at all after being hit by his H-Moto BMW machine in the fall.
Not to be deterred, Alen gave it his best and put in a brave performance but in the end was unable to improve his times due to the pain. He will therefore start tomorrow’s race (providing he can complete the warm up session) from 21st position on the grid.
