In Matt Davies, Qualifying, World Supersport

The youngest full time rider in the World Supersport championship, waited until his final lap of qualifying to claim 25th on the grid for tomorrow’s 5th round of the World Supersport championship.

After a difficult start to the weekend, the young Aussie improved dramatically in today’s two sessions and was happy with the set up on his PTR Honda going into the all important timed session this afternoon.

Pole position went to Sam Lowes who destroyed the outright circuit record meaning Matt’s time is very respectable given the limited dry track time on a Supersport machine.

Tomorrow’s race will be tough but Davies is confident of putting in a strong performance in the 22 lap race which is scheduled to take place at 1330 local time.

Matt Davies – “That was a good session. I am only 2.5 off Sam’s pole time which is encouraging. The team and the bike are working well  and I am closer to where I need to be. We will keep improving in the warm up and look forward to a good race.”
