Denmark’s Alex Schacht posted his best qualifying position since joining the World Supersport championship, earlier today at the famous Assen TT circuit in the Netherlands.
Alex who posted the fastest lap in last year’s UEM Superstock 600cc race was optimistic of a good result before the weekend and confident of making it happen after an encouraging opening qualifying session.
26th in this morning’s free practice, Alex made the most of the terrible weather conditions this afternoon and rode superbly to claim a provisional 13th on the grid ahead of Sunday’s race.
Alex Schacht – Racing Team Toth: “The main thing is that the set up is good. We tried a few different things in the session, I felt good from the start, had a good pace, and I felt comfortable. I followed Van De Mark for a while and gained some confidence in the rain again. Tomorrow I think will be dry but we will continue to push hard and hope to at least maintain our position on the grid for the race on Sunday.”
Free Practice: 1.58.899 (26th), Qualifying: 2.06.789 (13th)
Final qualifying is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 1605 local time.
