Alex Schacht arrived in Portimao for the penultimate round of the UEM Superstock 600cc Championship fresh from a double victory at Anderstorp on his Panigale and confident of returning to fight for the podium.
The Schacht Racing SBK One Honda looked superb as Alex rode with increasing confidence throughout the session to qualify provisionally in 10th.
This opening day position is encouraging given that Alex didn’t attend a private test at the circuit recently and is only 0.6 seconds from the front row of the grid.
Final qualifying takes place tomorrow with the 10 lap race scheduled to run at 1435 local time on Sunday.
