The two rider H-Moto team were delighted with today’s qualifying session ahead of the opening FIM Stock 1000cc Cup race at MotorLand Aragon.
Both riders, Riccardo Cecchini and Robert Muresan have improved steadily over the weekend and have given themselves an excellent chance of scoring points in the season opener tomorrow.
For Muresan, this is his first time riding at the Aragon circuit, whilst for Cecchini although he is familiar with the track, it is the first time riding the 1000cc machine.
Riccardo Cecchini – 11th on the grid: “I’m so very happy with qualifying. This is the first weekend racing with a Stock thousand so to be so close to the top ten is fantastic for us. I want to say a special thanks to the team. We are all smiling and this is important. I am still getting used the extra power that I have now and for tomorrow I hope to improve my lap time even more because although we are racing this event is like a test for us too.”
Robert Muresan – 15th on the grid: “I improved almost 1.5 seconds today which is good because this is my first time at the track. This kind of track you need to learn to go fast. There are lots of blind turns and I’m still learning. I had some sliding problems but we have an idea to try in warm up. I think for the race that we can be in the points.”
The 13 lap race will take place at 1415 local time tomorrow.
