Matt Davies riding the Racedays Kawasaki returned to sharp end of things with a great ride in the opening qualifying session for round 9 of the UEM Superstock 600cc Championship at the sunny Portugese circuit, Portimao.
Having been fast in the opening session of the day, the talented Aussie rode confidently to end the day on the provisional second row of the grid in 7th position.
In addition and in comparison to a number of the other front runners, Matt was the only rider to string together 5 consecutively fast laps which bodes well for the race on Sunday.
Final qualifying takes place tomorrow at 1145 local time with the penultimate round of the championship scheduled to start at 1435 local time on Sunday over 10 laps.
