Rain disrupted the final qualifying for the World Supersport championship race at the Nurburgring as the heavens opened just before the riders took the track.
Despite the conditions, Aussie youngster Matt Davies took his PTR Honda for a few exploratory wet laps, ending the damp session in a very respectable 19th position.
The result however has no bearing on the final grid as none of the 39 riders were able to improve their times, meaning Davies will start tomorrow’s race from the 11th row in 33rd.
Matt can be positive however that whatever the weather decides to do tomorrow, a strong race finish is on the cards after improving 1.7 seconds in the morning’s free practice session which was held in drier conditions.
