The rain may have stopped but the track was still very much wet when the final round of the 2012 World Supersport championship got underway at the Magny Cours circuit in France earlier today.

From the start, Alex Baldolini maintained his qualifying position of tenth on lap one and then set about challenging the riders ahead.

As the track dried, the Suriano Triumph rider looked more and more comfortable and was soon battling with Gabor Talmasci for 6th. Alex followed the Hungarian for a couple of corners before passing the former 125cc World Champion and over the next 5 laps was quick enough to open up a 3 second gap, leaving him in a secure 6th position.

With Sheridan Morais finishing 14th, the result today maintains Alex Baldolini in 7th position overall in the World Supersport Championship in his debut season.
